Humming bird feeders

Hummingbirds are truly one of nature's most interesting creatures. Because the birds are so small and they are constantly flying, they expend a lot of energy and need to feed frequently. Hummingbird feeders are an excellent addition to any garden, or patio and will attract these beautiful creatures to your home.

There are a few different types of humming bird feeders, and everyone has a favorite type. Probably the most common type of feeder is the bottle or vase feeder. Basically, this feeder looks like a bottle that has been inverted into a plastic ring that has holes in it. The holes are tiny enough for the little narrow beaks of the humming birds to fit into in order to feed.

Another popular humming bird feeder style is the saucer style of feeder. The saucer can be hung or mounted from the window for easier bird viewing. The saucer has a number of holes in it for the birds to feed from. The food solution is placed into the saucer, and the lid with the holes in it is put on top to cover the dish.

Another type of humming bird feeder is designed to simulate a flower that a humming bird may be attracted to. The flowers are either made from glass or plastic; and they are colored in bright and attractive colors. These feeders can be placed on stakes directly in the garden, suction cupped onto the window or hung from hooks.

o matter what type of humming bird feeder you choose, the solution that you place inside of the feeder should be sweet. Humming birds are attracted to nectar, and you can either make your own mixture or buy a store bought preparation
